Abstract

Lemon is one of commercial citrus produced by the teaching factory of Kebun Inovasi Politeknik Negeri Jember. However, the specific information related to the product from the teaching factory has not yet been iniated, including for fresh lemon fruit product. Therefore, this research aims to develop the product description for lemon fruit at the teaching factory through morphological charactization. The research was conducted using interview and direct observation method of morphological characters of lemon fruit with purposive sampling for 5 fruits for each type of lemon. Based on this research, there are 2 types of commercial lemons cultivated in the Kebun Inovasi Polije, namely California lemons and seedless lemons with the most striking differences in morphological characteristics between the two are the character of the base and apex shape of the fruit, the color of the fruit flesh, and the presence of seed. The data can be used as the supporting material for the marketing strategy of lemon at the teaching factory of Kebun Inovasi Politeknik Negeri Jember.
